Auspicious Wish
At this very moment, for the peoples and the nations of the earth, may not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
Rather may their moral conduct, merit, wealth, and prosperity increase, and may supreme good fortune and wellbeing always arise for them.

This special event was a project organised
by students and English teacher of
St.
Marks School, and The Book Attic to
promote green life activity and interest of
reading second-hand books in English
language.

It was successfully held at St. Marks School
on 23rd April 2012.

A full day of happiness, excitement and
surprises for all book lovers.

Miss Kadence Leung
Dr. Lam Chi Man's
family has donated
his collection of
treasures to the Book
Attic shortly before
the Book Attic was
closed for lack of
operation location in
Spring 2011.

Many of Dr. Lam's
books have gone to
new homes in Hong
Kong and overseas
being appreciated by
new readers.

This 1984 "The
Cosmic Code:
Quantum Physics as
the Language of
Nature" by Heinz R.
Pagels is now
belonging to one of
the students in St.
Marks School.

It's wonderful to
seeing younger
generation enjoying
reading in English
language and
appreciating
second-hand books.
One of my tasks for operating this bookshop is to raising environmental
awareness and promoting reading interest in second-hand English
language books.  Miss Kadence Leung and students of St. Marks School
have made this one of my dreams come true!

This was not an ordinary book selling day but a very special one
because the students were the organisers too. Some of them helped in
selecting titles for other students, some took the selected books to the
school and helped displaying them in the school's activity room.  It's a
wonderful, interesting and precious experience for all of us.
