Commissioned by Buckingham Palace, this book
was published to raise fund for The Queen's "Work
for Women" Fund in conjunction with The National
Relief Fund in 1914.  There are beautiful 22
coloured plates of paintings and many drawings by
more than 40 varied artists.  22 Authors included
J.M. Barrie, G.A. Birmingham, Hall Caine, Ralph
Connor, A. Conan Doyle, J. H. Favre, Ellen
Thorneycroft Fowler, Charles Garvice, H. Rider
Haggard, Beatrice Harraden, Rudyard Kipling, and
many more.

illustrations printed and blindstamped on green cloth.  It contains 8 full-page beautiful coloured
plates by T. Mackenzie.  312 pages.  Spine and corners bumped, little foxing on outer page
edges, a few on some pages, it is in very good condition.  Each illustration is a piece of art, thus
this is one of my favourite rare books.
