On 27 April, 2008 the second Sunday after the opening of The Book
Attic, three high school students: Wong Hiu-ying, Pang To-kiu and Yue
Pui-sze visited the attic.  After I explained to them how the attic operates,
they were so excited and told me that they now can afford to read more.
Each girl opened a book lover account immediately.  Then they browsed,
chatted, laughed, asked questions and then left the attic each with a
book that they liked to read in their hands with a big smile on their faces.
I had a big smile on my face too, that's not because I've sold them 3
books from HK$35.00 to $40.00 each, but knowing that they'll enjoy
reading them.

I like to say thank you to the following supportive media that have
featured the attic in their publications to promote reading interests,
environmental and heritage awareness:
am730, Golden Age Magazine,
Weekend Weekly, TimeOut Hong Kong, The Parents' Magazine, Hong
Kong Dollarsaver, UA Cinemas, U Magazine, Beats, Hong Kong
Economic Journal Co., Ltd., Sing Tao Daily, Cable TV Hong Kong, and to
ALL THE FELLOW BOOK LOVERS for supporting the attic by bringing
books here to share with others, donating small changes to help ease
the operating costs and to those who volunteer their time.  I sincerely
hope this seed will grow and blossom.

I am grateful to have love and emotional support from my mother, Lolita
and K.Y. So, Alan and K.Y. Li, Priscilla Li, Uncle Wong and his family,
Caramia and David Hartley, Dr. John Duthie, Professor Keith N. Cleland,
and
Albert F. Bowden.  Tom Yam, Mr. 劉蘇恩, Jenny and Derick Pao who
spent many late nights spent in designing an artistic logo for the attic that
incorporates the English name of The Book Attic as an attic built on a
foundation of books and bookshelves in a Chinese character of book.

Jigme Tromge Rinpoche of Ati Ling in Oakville, California. Without him as
my Dharma teacher to guide me, I would be a miserable soul without
realization of the true meaning of love, compassion and freedom; and
wouldn't be servicing book lovers in this neighbourhood and afar.

I am so fortunate to have all of you in my journey of this life.

Love,

Jennifer
