What is a Book Lover Account?

A Book Lover Account is a book credit account in your name to
record the books that you no longer want to keep, and have brought to
The Book Attic to share the joy that you had in reading them with other
book lovers.

How does a Book Lover Account operate?

For each used book The Book Attic accepts from you, HK$2.00 to
10.00 will be added into your Book Lover Account.
When you purchase books at The Book Attic, HK$2.00 to 10.00 will
be deducted from your Book Lover Account to offset the list price of
each book.

For example, if The Book Attic has accepted 10 used books
from you at HK$10.00 each, you will have HK$100.00 in your
account.
When you buy 2 used books at HK$38.00 each, you only have to
pay HK$56.00 instead of HK$76.00 because HK$10.00 is
deducted from your Book Lover Account as partial payment for
each book. The new balance in your account will be HK$80.00.

What are the benefits in having a Book Lover Account at The Book
Attic?

Book Lovers can enjoy reading quality bargain books at deeply
reduced prices.
While reading your favourite books from The Book Attic, you are also
actively helping our environment by using less wood resources.
Some local students who love to read cannot afford to buy expensive
new books at the major book stores. Your support of The Book Attic
can help these students greatly!

What happen to the books that The Book Attic does not accept?

The Book Attic donates the books that it does not accept to charity.

Do I have to pay membership fee or joining fee in order to have a
Book Lover Account?

No fees at all. It is totally free of charge to have a Book Lover Account
at The Book Attic.

Will the credit balance in my Book Lover Account be expired?

Yes, if your Book Lover Account is non-active for 24 months, the credit
balance in it will expire and became zero.

Can I terminate my Book Lover Account with credit in it?

Yes, of course you can terminate your Book Lover Account at any time
you desire.
A credit note valued at 50% of the credit balance in your Book Lover
Account will be issued in your name or the name of someone you
nominate to use within one year after your account closing date.

Does The Book Attic accept all kinds of books?

The Book Attic accepts most kinds of books in good condition.
Books in the following categories will be donated to charity:

Books in poor condition
Books smelling of cigarette smoke
Computer / Internet books
Magazines
Study aids and text books
When we have triplicate titles in stock

Can I buy books at The Book Attic if I do not have a Book Lover
Account?

Of course you are welcome to buy books at The Book Attic. We need
your support to keep the attic running. Your contribution is always
appreciated highly.

Can I keep the books I've purchase at The Book Attic?

Of course you can, they are your books. But if you do not want to keep
them in the future, you are always welcome to bring them back to the
attic for sharing with other book lovers.
